Hey there, as you can probably tell by now my name is Trey Hubbard. I recently graduated with a Masters in Cyber Security with a concentration in Cyber Operations. For my undergrad I got a degree in Computer Engineering. I switched to security because of a web app penetration testing class. I really enjoyed the mindset of figuring out what was going on under the hood, and using that to make the application behave in a way that was unexpected.
I am currently looking for a job in either security or development. I’ve gotten to experience both building and breaking and can say that I love doing both. On the side, enjoy working on hardware/software projects[link], and also enjoy solving penetration testing problems[writeups]. I’m always trying to learn something new, and interesting. That’s kind of what this site was all about, I wanted to display what all I've done in an interesting way.
Out of my career some of the moments I am specifically proud of are earning scholarships from Facebook to attend blackhat and defcon twice, teaching the same hacking class at my university that first got me interested in security, and obtaining the rank of Eagle Scout.
Projects - Love working on something where I get to learn, whether it be learning how to host a website on AWS, to messing with wifi modules, if I get to learn something new then I’m happy!
CTFs - These challenging puzzles always give me the best feeling when they are solved. Just that adrenaline rush of solving a puzzle through a new tool or technique is always fulfilling.
Art - This is a recent passion that I have been getting more into. My favorite type of art is nature/space/fantasy styled artwork using 3D rendering to try and create a photorealistic look.
Working out - Working out has always been a good way to relieve stress, think of things, and clear my head for a bit. Due to recent circumstances I haven't been able to work out as much (thanks covid), but hope to get back at it soon.
Games - I love RPG games, table top games, as well as multiplayer games that include teamwork and working with friends.
